The High Mountaineering Training is a skill development course offered by Nepal Mountain Academy to provide a comprehensive understanding of the mountain environment and its associated disciplines. The training includes:

  • mountaineering techniques,
  • mountain traversing,
  • rope/ climbing techniques,
  • rescue mechanisms,
  • team-building exercises and other associated theoretical and practical learnings.

The Academy conducts the training in the verbal and practical medium in a mountain site to enable the trainees to cope and tackle with situations at high altitudes.

The first training was organised in 2010, where 20 civil servants were trained in the Langtang region; correspondingly, for the advancement of practice, they also were dispatched to Yala peak in 2011, whence five civil servants were selected for the Mt. Everest height re-measurement expedition.

Interested candidates can fill-up the form here and with at least 15 applications for training request, the Academy shall organize and execute the training on mountain terrain with qualified and highly experienced team of trainers.
