Being the first-ever institution to represent the mountains and mountaineering academically, Nepal Mountain Academy has now proceeded into an institutional relationship with the University of Presov, Slovakia.

The University of Presov in Presov in Slovakia and Nepal Mountain Academy, Government of Nepal, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Tribhuvan University, Nepal, considering a common interest in promoting the mutual cooperation in the area of education and research, both parties, therefore, wish to expand the basis for friendship and cooperative educational exchange and have set forth to working with a collaborative partnership.

The purpose of this partnership is to develop academic and allied cooperation on an equal and reciprocal basis and to promote relations and mutual understanding between the two universities to strengthen educational and practical activities.

Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, USA, is a natural partner for the Nepal Mountain Academy. With a mountain setting and access to some of the world’s best outdoor recreation and natural laboratories, Montana State University attracts students and faculty who desire to learn, create, research, and explore topics related to the mountain environment. With their degrees in hand, Montana State graduates are prepared to move on to further study or careers that address some of our planet’s greatest challenges.

Through our partnership with Nepal Mountain Academy, we can together offer students and faculty further opportunities to share knowledge and to expand international networks of creative thinkers.

International Collaborations

Mountains and mountaineering are global disciplines. Nepal hosting 8 out of 14 eight-thousanders and thousands of peaks over 6000 meters is a prominent abode of snow and skills; however, it is not the only one globally. There are 26 countries worldwide hosting mountains, and the Academy tries to maintain a collaborative relationship with the possible hosts of mountains.

These partnerships' principal objective is to organize and execute different high-altitude training, skill development courses, familiarizing global mountains and their peculiar mountaineering style. Some of our national and international collaborations include:

International Student Admission

International Student Department is here to assist you with any questions or concerns regarding International Students issue you may have about admissions, visa, and immigration. The Department will also assist you with the College, new culture and community, or anything you want to know about studying and living in Nepal.

International applicants who have passed their high school level and are interested to apply for BMS and those who have passed their undergraduate degree and are interested to apply for MATS may submit the following documents.

  • Updated CV at office@nepalmountain.edu.np with verification or proof of taking English as a compulsory subject until high school.
  • Certificates and testimonials of all examinations passed.
  • For the applicants who are not familiar with English as a working language must submit the score sheet of valid IELTS (with a minimum overall score of 6) or TOEFL (with a minimum score of 60).

Documents required for visa processing (for international students)

  • Admission letter from the academic institution.
  • Bank balance to provide evidence of sufficient study funds.
  • Valid passport and copies of your passport along with a copy of the latest visa page.
